Today a fire extinguisher is familiar to every kid in this world. It has become a necessity in every house, office or rather every building and rightly so. This device is quite historic and has always been the one to avert a disaster. Being the life saver in numerous instances, a fire extinguisher is indeed an indispensable asset.

A fire extinguisher as its name suggests is used to cut out fires. It is fairly reasonable and quite easy to operate. It has a special fire reducing substance under pressurized conditions. This pressurized stream when directed towards the fire cuts it out completely or partially. The extinguishers may work differently:

1. Fire extinguisher may be of the type which cuts out the supply of air (oxygen) from the fire and hence the fire stops as the combustible substance is restricted e.g. CO2 extinguisher

2. Some fire extinguishers gush out pressurized water or other cooling substances which drops the temperature thus rooting out the fire e.g. H2O extinguisher.

Today fire trainings are provided just for the reason as haw to react in case of a fire and how to use an extinguisher thereafter. The most vital in this is the fire extinguisher training. The training is a lot more than just spilling out the contents of the extinguisher. It aims at knowing the exact specifications and using the appropriate one in a situation.

Usually extinguisher are designed to be very user friendly and just by reading the instructions label on it, one can determine its effect on what types of fires. But if not written one must not panic as today the extinguishers are made universal and can be used for almost all types of fires like gas, chemical, electrical, flammable substance etc.
